Leicester City Primary School Competition

Today, eight selected Year 6 pupils from Uplands took part in an exciting and educational experience at Sparkenhoe Primary School. They participated in the Leicester City Primary Schools Mock Trial competition, engaging in a realistic courtroom scenario.
The trial, R v Lee Gupta, focused on the charge of possession of a bladed article. Each child was assigned a specific role in the trial, which they performed with confidence, having memorised their lines by heart.
As part of the experience, the children also learned about the dangers and consequences of knife crime, gaining a deeper understanding of the legal system and the importance of making positive choices.
The Uplands team performed exceptionally well. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their confidence in a formal setting while engaging in an important real-world issue.
