Leicester’s very own Bali Rai visited Uplands this week to deliver an inspirational talk about the power of reading. He spent the full day in school, visiting each Year 5 class, discussing his own background and how reading fuelled his own imagination and brain power. The children could clearly feel his passion for reading and had lots of questions to ask about how he was able to channel this into his chosen profession as an author. At the end of the day, the children reported feeling inspired to read and having a clearer understanding of how reading opens up opportunities in life.
